FAQs

What kind of pets does H2C house?
Currently, H2C can house dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, mice, and other small animals. Eventually, H2C will have the ability to house large animals.
 What area does H2C serve?
We serve Montcalm, Muskegon, Ottawa, Kent, Ionia, Barry, Calhoun, Eaton, Clinton, Jackson, Ingham, Newago, and Oakland counties. We will serve others if space is available.
How long will my pet(s) be housed at H2C?
Time varies based on the individual and their circumstances. The survivor must maintain communication with H2C while pets are in H2C's care.
Can survivors visit their pet(s)?
No, in order to maintain the safety and confidentiality of all survivors and pets we serve, only volunteers and staff are permitted on property. We do send pictures, videos, and stay in contact with the owner throughout the pets' stay.
What happens if I can't take my pet back?
If the survivor is not able to take their pet(s) back, the pets will be adopted out through a partner animal organization.
