ABOUT ME

Picture
My Goal:
I hope to raise $1000 and walk/run 90 miles (a minimum of 60 miles) in April!
My Reason:
Supporting Miles for Hope is deeply important to me because no survivor should ever have to choose between their own safety and the safety of the pet they love. Hope’s 2nd Chance Animal Sanctuary provides exactly what so many families in crisis desperately need: a safe, loving, free place for their pets while they escape domestic violence and rebuild stability. The reality is that pets are often used as leverage by abusers, and many survivors delay leaving simply because there is nowhere for their animals to go. This organization closes that gap with compassion and dignity, offering protection, care, and a true second chance for both survivors and their pets. Participating in Miles for Hope allows me to help shine a light on this issue and ensure more families can leave dangerous situations without leaving their animals behind.
My Plan:

I'll be doing both walking and running - ALWAYS bringing my labrador retriever along!
My Location:
Stanton, MI

MY BLOG

Week 1 (4/1-4/4)
How did your first week go?
Weather was UGLY this week, so unfortunately my walking was limited to the treadmill while multi-tasking in meetings. But I'm proud of myself for making it happen, especially since I broke my toe 2 weeks ago and was worried I wouldn't be able to start. Hopeful to be able to get out on the trail starting next week!
What did you listen to this week?
The sound of the treadmill belt and my own voice! :)
Week 2 (4/5-4/11)
Has it been difficult adding in walking/running to your life?
No, it hasn't, especially if I'm able to walk during working hours. What's tough is making the time to step away from the daily grind and get outside!
Did you walk/run in any new areas?
This weekend, I'm looking forward to walking on the trail in the weather that looks like it's going to be gorgeous!
Week 3 (4/12-4/18)
What did you listen to this week?

Lots of raindrops!
How was the weather for walking/running?
Pretty miserable with all our April showers, but I'm proud of Luna and I for still getting out there.
