Common FAQ's About Fostering
What kind of animals need foster care?
We are currently seeking volunteers that want to foster dogs and cats. In the future, with increased need we may seek out fosters for other types of animals.
How long do animals stay in foster care?
The time will vary based on the owner. It could be as short as a week to as long as six months. The average is three months.
Can i be a foster if i have my own animals?
Yes, we welcome pet owners as foster volunteers. Please keep in mind that there is always a health risk when exposing your pets to other animals, in any setting. However, the risk is minimal if your pets are vaccinated and in good health.
What expenses are involved with fostering?
Foster families provide exercise, socialization and lots of love! Hope's 2nd Chance will provide the rest. All food, vet care, supplies, etc. will be provided.
